May 2026 Member Plant Sale

 

Members shopped for vegetables and annuals at our May plant sale. Connie Tibbits grew most of the plants from seed and the sale was in her plant shed.  We greatly appreciate Connie's dedication in growing such beautiful plants and for hosting the sale.  Remaining plants will be available at the Dodgeville Farmers Market, at Roger and Gayl Stewart's stand.

May 2022 Meeting: Seedling Sale Planning

We held our first in person meeting of the year at Centennial Park. The big topic of discussion was our upcoming seedling sale.

The seedling sale will be held at the Dodgeville Farmers Market on May 14, 21 and 28. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

The Uplands Garden Club 2021 seedling sale will be a combination pre-order/ farmers market event. A list of seedlings for sale will be available from UGC members. There are many varieties of tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables. We also have some popular annual flowers and native perennial seedlings and plugs for sale. 

All plants have been started in sterile potting mix: either seedlings or rooted cuttings.

Pre-ordered pick-ups and overstock sales will take place at the Dodgeville Farmers Market located in the municipal parking lot next to the United Methodist Church between Union and N Iowa streets (Hwy 23), Dodgeville, Wisconsin on Saturday May 15 between 8:30 and noon.

Uplands Garden Club Plant Sale 2019

After a one year hiatus, the annual Upland Garden Club Plant Sale returned on May 18th, once again at Harris Park in Dodgeville.


In order to prevent the spread of jumping worms, this year's sale consisted entirely of plants that were grown from seeds or cuttings, in soilless mix, whereas previous sales relied primarily on perennials dug from member's home gardens.

There were annuals, house plants, prairie plants, shrubs, herbs, vegetables...and lots and lots of tomatoes - one table just for cherry tomatoes, one for paste tomatoes and several for slicing tomatoes. Customers appreciated the wide variety of tomatoes that were available.

And the sale even included miniature Bonsai plantings and beautiful homemade gardening hods.
