We visited Lorna Filippini's beautiful Mineral Point garden for our July meeting. In the photo above, she is standing in front of her compost area. Logs from a dead tree form part of the edging and garden waste and household scraps quickly become valuable soil. She has many small beds scattered among the trees, controlling water flow and using many native plants as well as other plants like hostas.
