Two of these lovely hydrangea "Bobo" were obtained through an Uplands Garden Club grant. |
On Wednesday, August 2, garden club members met at Orchard Lawn for an informal self-guided tour of the garden and grounds.
We started with an introduction and to some, a refresh, of the signage on the wooden posts and also on the trees, the history of Betty Hansen's formal design, additional plantings which extend the bloom time, an in-process pollinator garden and the Father Hugo rose.
Thank you to Jennilyn McNeill for reminding us of the specific plants in Betty's design and Jennilyn's additional plantings; also Jane Stenson for insight on the pollinator garden. Jennilyn is currently maintaining the garden and we appreciate the beauty and care put into it.
The Garden Shed, the only remaining original out building on the grounds. |
